2. Login / User registration

2.1 Data collected during registration

When registering on our website we collect the following personal data:

  • Password
  • Name (optional)
  • Date of birth (optional)
  • Gender (optional)

Your e‑mail address and password are used to authenticate you and to grant access to the portal’s functions. All optional details enable you to personalise your profile.The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR (performance of a contract) for mandatory data and Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR (consent) for optional data.

2.2 Registration methods

Users may register either with their personal e‑mail address or via integrated social‑media services such as Google or Facebook. During registration we obtain users’ consent to this Privacy Notice, which includes the storage, processing and, where applicable, transfer of personal data to the chosen social‑media provider.

2.3 Login

If the user is already registered, authentication is performed via AWS Cognito. The access token issued by AWS Cognito is maintained for one hour to enable back‑end functions. No cookies or similar login data are stored on the user’s device. The login data remain in AWS Cognito until the user submits a deletion request.

2.4 Newsletter

Users can subscribe to our newsletter; we store the user’s e‑mail address for this purpose. Users may unsubscribe at any time via the link at the end of every newsletter or through their account settings.

2.5 Wish‑list

Users can compile lists of favourite products and may share such lists via channels such as e‑mail, Instagram or Facebook. No personal data are displayed when a shared list is opened.

2.6 Deleting an account

Users may withdraw their registration and have all associated personal data removed from our systems. A corresponding button is available in the user account. To initiate deletion the user must enter the account password; after confirmation the user receives an e‑mail confirming deletion. Please note that certain services (e.g. a newsletter subscription or a price‑alert registration) are not automatically terminated when deleting an account; these must be cancelled separately. The user’s personal data are securely retained until final deletion and are then completely removed.

3. Use of the e‑mail address and disclosure of personal data

E‑mail address

moebel.de uses users’ e‑mail addresses to send newsletters or to inform users about news and updates to the living24.uk service. If we insert partner advertisements or competitions into the newsletter, users’ e‑mail addresses are not passed on unless the user has expressly consented beforehand.

With the user’s consent moebel.de Einrichten & Wohnen GmbH may also pass personal data to co‑operation partners for advertising, market research, product information and the dispatch of offers tailored to the user’s interests.

For the “Recommend product” function we collect e‑mail addresses, names and message texts solely in order to send the recommendation e‑mail; these data are deleted after the service has been carried out.
