Fully upholstered in a 100 Viscose fabric, it benefits from a hand tufted finish, a traditional process that ensures its fillings stay securely in place. With 8kg per square metre of natural wool, cotton, cashmere and silk, the Tranquillity boasts 4 times the quantity of fillings found in most mattresses. Supplied by Agro, Europe39;s biggest provider of springs, the interior has of a core of standard pocket springs, with layers of mini tablet springs on each side. Mini tablet springs are designed to instantly compress when pressure is applied, while providing the feeling of weightlessness. As pocket springs are housed in their own cloth sleeves and totally independent, they39;re able to provide piston-like support to each part of the body. A flat rod-edge metal frame is fitted to the perimeter to ensure the integrity of the nested pocket springs and allow you the full use of the mattress width. An added feature is its side-stitched mattress borders - a labour intensive and intricate technique that take craftsmen many years to master. Using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle, the side-stitching process attaches the mattress border to the perimeter rows of springs. Side-stitching strengthens the mattress border and prevents it from bowing out over the years and also offers edge-to-edge support across its width.
