The appeal of the round shapes, refreshed in colour and with a white lacquered shade inside for improved light reflection, continues in the latest version of the Ball pendant light. Benny Frandsen, the founder of the manufacturing company Frandsen from Skanderborg in Denmark, began designing and manufacturing lights in 1968 after training as an engineer. His first lights had geometric shapes, which did not go down well with the Danes, so he turned to the round shapes favoured by his fellow countrymen.
