The mattress is upholstered in a 100 Viscose fabric and benefits from a hand tufted finish that secures its deep layers stay firmly in place. Natural fillings such as wool, cotton, cashmere and silk have the ability to regulate temperatures throughout the winter and summer months. Sandwiched between its layers is an interior made up of 1000 central pocket springs, with 4000 mini comfort tablet springs on both sides. Compared to open coils, pocket springs are small in diameter and housed in their own cloth sleeve and independent of any surrounding springs. This flexibility means the load on one spring is not affected by any neighbouring springs, resulting in piston-like support to each part of your body. An added feature to the mattress is side-stitching; a labour intensive and intricate technique that takes many years for craftsmen to master. Side-stitching involves the outer rows of springs being sewn to the mattress border by using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle. This process strengthens the mattress border and prevents it from bowing out over the years. It also offers edge-to-edge support across its width.
